How to mark a communication route in a warehouse?
What properties do vinyl tapes have and can they be used for more than just marking communication routes in a hall? Are they resistant to detergents used in production facilities? We answer!
What is a communication route in warehouse halls?
What is a communication route, also called a transport route? These are specially designated routes that are arranged into paths inside or outside the facility. They are extremely important in factories, halls, and warehouses – it is along these routes that utility vehicles with heavy loads move.
The marking of communication routes is done using specialized BHP vinyl tapes. Designating transport routes is extremely important for the safety of employees in the facility and is regulated by appropriate regulations. Forklifts, pallet trucks, and side loaders, as well as other vehicles used for warehouse transport, can move along communication routes. In addition, pedestrians can also use them if separate paths have not been designated for them.
Applications of vinyl tapes
Vinyl tape is one of the most popular tapes used in warehouse halls. Self-adhesive vinyl tapes are used, among other things, for coding, marking, identification, and masking. 3M vinyl tape is not only used for marking communication routes. In addition, it can be used to mark, for example, pipes or elements that may pose a threat to employees (thresholds, low ceilings, etc.). Additionally, vinyl tapes are ideal for masking with thin lines during painting (choose those based on rubber adhesive, they are easy to tear off and leave no residue) and for marking dangerous parts of machines.

Properties of vinyl tape
Vinyl tapes (e.g. from the manufacturer 3M) show high abrasion resistance. In addition, these tapesare resistant to moisture, atmospheric factors (e.g., UV rays) or even acids and alkalis. They have good adhesion to the substrate and are available in various colors.
For this reason, they are ideally suited for markings on both machines and rough surfaces – both outdoors and indoors. They adhere well and provide a long-lasting effect, much better in such cases than othertapes.
Why should you not disregard regulations?
The marking of traffic routes is legally regulated. It is not worth ignoring the regulations, because according to the National Labor Inspectorate, the average cost of a fine for not marking traffic routes can beabout 30,000 PLN(for a company with up to 100 employees). In turn, the purchase of one roll of 3M vinyl tape is about 120 PLN.
Vinyl tapes and marking of traffic routes
As you can see, 3M vinyl tape can be used for various tasks. The most popular ones aremarking of traffic routes, marking of pipes or machine parts or building elements that pose a threat to employees(e.g., low ceilings or high thresholds). In addition, they are ideal for masking small elements that we do not want to get dirty when painting.
