Industrial adhesives - which type to choose for a specific application?
Learn about the properties and applications of various bonding technologies to choose the perfect product for your needs.
Polyurethane adhesives
Polyurethane adhesive is used particularly in the industrial sector. It is easy to apply, making it popular for bonding large surfaces. Polyurethane adhesives are most often applied with a spatula or brush.
Polyurethane adhesives for wood, metal, and plastics
High-performance polyurethane adhesive for wood and other materials shows high bond strength, is flexible, and tends to elongate. In addition, polyurethane adhesives are suitable for filling gaps. They are also paintable and show high resistance to chemical agents. Polyurethane adhesive is also used to bond various materials, such as wood and metal, or wood and plastics (e.g., plasterboards).
Universal adhesives
Universal adhesives are successfully used in both industry and households. They are suitable for bonding metal, wood, glass, and plastics.
Strong universal adhesives
If you need a product with immediate grab for bonding both large and small surfaces, choose a fast-drying universal adhesive. Our assortment includes mounting adhesives in spray, tubes, and buckets. Our strong universal adhesives can be used for bonding plexiglass letters, plastic, picture frames, or even for attaching large and heavy surfaces to walls.
Our cyanoacrylate adhesive will be excellent in the industrial and medical sectors, while spray contact adhesive will be ideal for upholstery bonding. Contact adhesive is also suitable for laminates. Among others, you will find high-quality strong adhesives and primers from the popular industrial brand 3M.
Acrylic adhesives
In the Dalpo online store, you will find high-quality single- and two-component acrylic adhesives. They are most often used for bonding plastics (PE and PP) that have low surface tension. Acrylic adhesive usually requires an additional activator in the form of a special liquid. Strong acrylic-based adhesives are used to bond, among others, metal with wood, glass, or plastic.
Single-component and two-component acrylic adhesives
Every acrylic adhesive from our online store stands out on the market not only for its high quality but also for its innovation. We offer 3M products known worldwide, which have high resistance, among others, to shear and tension.
Acrylic adhesives show high impact resistance and have a wide operating temperature range. They are also resistant to weather conditions (such as UV rays, moisture, or frost) and are ideal for filling gaps. Do you need something versatile and strong? Acrylic adhesive will be perfect!
Two-component structural adhesives
If you are looking for adhesives for strong bonds, then two-component structural adhesives are ideal for most industrial applications. They are characterized primarily by high resistance to shear and tensile forces.
Two-component structural adhesives - properties and application
Two-component adhesives, as the name suggests, require two components mixed in appropriate proportions. Contrary to appearances, this does not mean that their use is more difficult – for structural adhesives, clear instructions are always included, thanks to which you have the chance to prepare an extremely effective and durable mixture that will make your work easier.
These 3M products are almost odorless. In addition, their durability allows them to withstand even very strong impacts, and they are also resistant to moisture. Two-component structural adhesive bonds most plastics, composites, and metals. In addition, it is suitable for bonding oily materials. Two-component structural adhesives do not dry out after curing in the container, so they can be reused multiple times after opening. They are used in advanced renovation work.

FAQ – Your questions about industrial adhesives
1. How to choose an adhesive for PP or PE plastics?
PP and PE plastics have low surface energy, which makes it difficult for adhesive to bond. For a durable bond, we recommend choosing an industrial acrylic adhesive, first using a special surface preparation fluid - 3M Surface Activator AP596.
2. What is the difference between a one-component and a two-component adhesive?
A one-component adhesiveis ready to use immediately after opening and cures under the influence of air humidity or solvent evaporation. A two-component adhesive(structural) requires mixing the base with a hardener. This initiates a chemical reaction that allows for a joint of extreme strength (more durable!).
3. Can industrial adhesive handle a greasy or oily surface?
Most standard adhesives require thorough degreasing of the substrate. However, advanced two-component structural adhesivesavailable from Dalpo are designed to absorb micro-layers of technological oils, enabling durable bonding of metals even in workshop and production conditions - without sterile cleaning.
4. I am looking for an alternative to liquid adhesives - what adhesive should I use for quick assembly?
If you need an adhesive that doesn't require hours to dry completely, our strong double-sided tapesare perfect for assembly. Adhesive tapes provide immediate, even structural holding strength - without the need for drilling holes or waiting for the adhesive to cure.
